Which Pokémon Display should you choose?
If you're a collector looking for the rare card among the latest editions, you should go for the Sword & Shield Displays. They're the most recent, but the Pokémon Sun & Moon editions are still relevant, especially if you also want to battle other Trainers with cards that have specific mechanics in TCG battles.
If you're looking for a very specific card from a Pokémon Display that is no longer on sale in Japan (before 2018) or anywhere else in the world, you'll need to turn to a shop specializing in reselling second-hand products.
How many cards are in a Pokémon Display?
A Pokémon Display contains 30 packs. This can vary by edition: although most have 30, some have only 20 and others 15. This is due to limited editions, which may contain more cards or are printed in smaller quantities than the classic ones.
A pack of Pokémon cards in Japan contains 5 cards, sometimes 7. A quick bit of math (you should be able to follow, it's not complicated!), number of cards times number of packs, and we get a total of 150 cards in a classic Display of playing or collectible cards.
How much does a Pokémon Display cost?
The price of a Display varies by country of origin, rarity and the number of Boosters inside. A Pokémon Display generally costs around 180€, assuming it contains 30 packs of 10 cards, in France (retail price, in specialist shops or supermarkets).
Here, we send you Pokémon cards directly from Japan: they're cheaper, exclusive and unique. A Display costs between €70 and €150, again depending on the edition. The advantage is that you can choose your cards more easily and get the ones of your dreams even more simply!
Finding your favorite Pokémon card
It's sometimes very hard to find the card of your dreams with a single Pokémon Booster, as you'll need to buy a lot of them and above all search for hours to find the Pokémon GX card or Pokémon VMAX card you want.
The Display is a solution for you, especially those imported directly from Japan. Fun fact: in France, the Pokémon editions combine two Japanese editions. If you know the card you want, Japanese Displays or Boosters give you twice the chance of pulling the right one!
But other options are available depending on what you're looking for....
The rarest cards? A Pokémon Display
As you saw above, there are usually 30 packs in a Display — this is where you'll find the holographic or full art cards you're looking for, but you'll need to open as many as possible to find it.
A specific card? A Deck or Box
If the Pokémon V or rare card you're looking for is already guaranteed in a Pokémon Deck, you can go for those! What's more, your deck will be fully ready for battle if you play TCG matches: they're often inspired by the Gym Leaders or arenas of the universe.
The Pokémon Boxes are also a solution, as they bring rare and exclusive cards on top of everything else: a playmat, card sleeves, cases... they're often prized by collectors, but also by serious card players!
Small budget, big wish? A Pokémon Booster
The last option is the Pokémon Boosters, sold individually. It's often for those who want to try their luck on a small number of cards, but you can still pull a super-powerful one.
