Pokémon Cards 1st Edition & 2nd Edition

(1 products)

More than a passion! Find here all the Japanese 1st Edition and 2nd Edition cards released from 1996 in the Land of the Rising Sun.

Our catalog will keep growing to give you access to the card of your dreams and let you relive your childhood memories.

These old-school cards are grouped into different rarities: the Commons (with a small black circle at the bottom right), Uncommons (a diamond appears instead of the circle), Rares and Holo Rares (both with a star as the rarity symbol).

Which collections belong to this category of old-school cards?

You've surely seen a first or second edition card at least once in your life — the back, with a different design from today's, makes them legendary and full of nostalgia: impossible not to remember the trading sessions with friends at school.

This group of cards appeared in Japan between 1996 and 2001 and is made up of several expansions released in this chronological order:

. The Base Set released in 1996

. The expansion Jungle in March 1997

. The series Fossil in June 1997

. The expansion Team Rocket in November 1997

. The series Gym Heroes and Gym Challenge released in 1998 and 1999 respectively

. The Neo set, known for introducing second-generation Pokémon into theTCG universe made up of: Neo Genesis (February 2000), Neo Discovery (July 2000), Neo Revelation (November 2000) and Neo Destiny (April 2001).

How are the Pokémon cards delivered to me?

Like you, we collect Pokémon cards, and we're well aware of their value. All cards are sent in a sleeve (card protector), inside a top loader (plastic case). They're also wrapped in bubble wrap, all shipped in a bubble envelope or a special box.

How to tell first and second edition cards apart?

The 1996 Base Set includes the first edition cards, and all the other expansions released afterwards up to and including Neo Destiny make up the second edition. A symbol that varies by expansion appears to the right of the frame showing weight and height on second-print cards (and not on Base Set cards).

Why are Wizards cards so popular?

Highly sought after by collectors and widely covered by the press, first and second edition cards have made headlines in recent years.

We've all heard of the famous holographic Charizard card sold for more than €300,000. The craze for these cards can be explained by the fact that the franchise shaped our generation's childhood, whether through video games, the TCG universe or the anime.

We also have a large quantity of Pokémon Boosters, of Display, of Box, Decks and much more! So if you're looking for gift ideas, rare Pokémon EX or GX cards if you're trying to complete your binders or simply update your Pokémon card collection, we'll do our best to be your no. 1 online source for Pokémon.

Your turn to get a Pikachu, Mew, Mewtwo or the famous Holo Charizard. What's your favorite card?
